Deputy Grand Superintendent
Excellent Companion Trevor Climpson PAGDC.

Born and raised in Gravesend, Trevor first attended Westcourt County Primary
School and then the Gravesend County Grammar School for Boys, from 1953 to
1960. He was articled in the firm of C Hayter, Taylor & Co in Gravesend and
qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1966, winning the Plender Prize for his
paper on Advanced Accounting. The firm amalgamated with another in Gravesend
and continues as King & Taylor, with Trevor as the senior partner.
Trevor married Vivienne in 1966. They have two married sons and two
granddaughters.
Viv is actively involved in voluntary work with Age Concern and the RSPCA
whilst Trevor has always enjoyed sport. He played cricket for the Old
Gravesendians for over 30 years and captained both the 1st and 2nd XI’s and is
a vice president of the club. He now tries to play golf and, thanks to Viv’s
efforts, is at least the best-dressed golfer in the club!
Trevor was introduced to Freemasonry by his father in law, Bill Harris, and
was initiated into The Manor of Chatham Lodge No 4688 in 1967. He has been
Master twice, Treasurer three times and Director of Ceremonies.
In the Province Trevor was appointed Past Provincial Deputy Grand Registrar in
1986, promoted to Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 1992 and Past Provincial
Senior Grand Warden in 2001. In Grand Lodge he was appointed as Past Grand
Standard Bearer in 2007.
Trevor has always enjoyed Royal Arch Masonry enormously. He was exalted into
the Royal Kent Arch Chapter of Antiquity No 20 in 1978, was First Principal in
1982 and Scribe E from 1983 to 2002. He joined the East Kent Provincial Grand
Stewards Chapter No 5866 in 1986, was Treasurer from 1990 to 2002 and First
Principal in 2004.
In the Province Trevor was appointed Provincial Grand Steward in 1986,
promoted to Provincial Deputy Grand Registrar in 1988, to Provincial Grand
Registrar in 1995 and Deputy Grand Superintendent in 2008. In Supreme Grand
Chapter he was appointed Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2001.
