Worshipful Master in 2000 and Director of Ceremonies 2002 to date.
Publicity Officer for the Faversham Area Lodges 2000 - 2005
Joined The Old Ruymian Lodge No. 8391 (School Lodge of Chatham House Grammar
School, Ramsgate ) in 2004 and currently Director of Ceremonies.
Assistant to the Provincial Grand Tyler 2000 – 2003 and appointed as
Provincial Office Administrator 2002 - 2005
Appointed Provincial Assistant Grand Secretary in 2005.
Exalted into HRA Chapter of Harmony No. 133 in 1983, MEZ in 2006 and currently
Assistant Director of Ceremonies for that Chapter.
Active member of the Rose Croix and Knights Templar Orders.
Born in Birmingham in 1947, moved to Kent in 1953. Educated at Chatham House
Grammar School, Ramsgate, leaving in 1963 to study Paint Technology with ICI,
later joining Invicta Airways at Manston Airport as a ‘Cost and Works’
Accountant.
In 1968 joined the Police Service and completed 30years, taking retirement to
further an interest in horticulture.
During 30 years active Police Service, served as the Head of Kent Police
Television, Head of Media Technology for the National Police College at
Bramshill in Hampshire in the rank of Chief Inspector and latterly as an
Investigating Officer for the Police Complaints and Discipline Department at
Kent Police Headquarters.
In 1990 appointed Deputy Director of Personnel Development for Kent Police and
subsequently devised, introduced and taught ‘Management Studies’ for the
Police Service, introducing ‘Distance Learning’ systems. Whilst initially
involved with the training of Senior Police Officers, this involvement grew to
encompass management training within the public sector and industry, together
with ‘assessments’ for Management NVQ qualifications.
Currently a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel &
Development, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management and a Member
of the Institute of Management.
A Director and Trustee of the Abbey Physic Community Garden, a Registered
Charity which seeks to utilize aspects of horticulture in the rehabilitation
of persons suffering from mental illness or incapacity.
Married in 1975 to Mary, who is currently the Treasurer of the Faversham
Masonic Centre.
Other interests include Ballroom Dancing, Gardening, Photography and Travel
