Has been a member of both the Provincial Craft and Mark Cricket teams. Qualified as a Pharmacist in 1967 and made a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 1990. Worked for over 25 years as a Pharmacist for Boots the Chemists, managing various stores in England. Retired after several years as Head of Public and Government Affairs at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. Served as an Independent Member of the Kent Police Authority. Trustee of the National Patients Association.
Married for over 38 years to Marion who is still actively involved in Flower arranging, working closely with the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies and the Royal Horticultural Society.
Other interests include cricket, photography and collecting Toby Jugs!
