KENT CHARITY GOLF CHALLENGE WBro Bill Farnham, Portcullis Lodge and the Chapter of Sympathy, Gravesend Masonic Centre, set himself the challenge of playing one hole of golf at as many Kent courses as possible over two days in an attempt to raise sponsorship money for Demelza House Children’s Hospice in Sittingbourne, Kent. On 2nd and 3rd October 2003, Bill successfully completed his sponsored golf challenge. He played one hole of golf at 42 different courses throughout Kent over the two days. The challenge took 23 hours of daylight to complete. Bill who was assisted by his caddy and driver, Bro Scott Johnson, also a member of Portcullis, travelled over 350 miles between the courses played in completing the challenge. The accumulative par for the 42 holes played was 157 strokes. Bill managed a gross score of 165, 8 over par, raising over £1000 for Demelza House.
