Masonic Province of East Kent Donates £119,465

to Non-Masonic Charities and good causes

Over the past twelve months Lodge Charity Stewards have been most helpful when completing their part of the annual Installation Report by providing more specific details about donations to non-Masonic Charities and good causes. Until this information was provided we had no idea how much we, in the Province of East Kent, gave to such causes. The information has now been analysed and indicates that over the twelve month period ending June 2003 a total of £119,465 was donated to 195 different charities and good causes. In the summary described below the Provincial Grand Masters Discretionary Fund and the Provincial Grand Masters Charity have also been included.

The information now to hand will enable the various Lodges and Chapters within our Province to be aware and better informed of our broader charitable activities. With this in mind a similar summary will feature in subsequent September editions of ‘The Provincial’.

What we have before us this time round is a first attempt. In an endeavour to improve the quality of information published, it would be helpful if Charity Stewards could remember to provide the full name or title of the Charity and cause and the specific area of research if applicable.

In any event, may I thank the Charity Stewards for their help in this project and trust that you all find the summary informative.
