MUSEUM EXPANSION CREATES OPPORTUNITY TO
RE-HOUSE EKPCA AND PROVINCIAL OFFICE

Library and
Museum expanding

The Library and Museum is busy preparing for a full rebuild of the gallery which displays the museum’s collection. This relocation will give us more space at Canterbury which makes our project far easier to manage. As a result of this action to
date, there is no doubt that the Library and Museum will attract considerable national interest and importance - as evidenced by the external professional advice received.

Applications are in hand for
substantial grants to add to the £50,000 we have managed to save. It is hoped that the Heritage Lottery Fund will look favourably on our efforts to open up our heritage assets to a wide public audience in Canterbury, where tens of thousands of tourists and others pass by our door every year.

New home for
the EKPCA

The EKPCA will be moving
into an adjacent office at the new premises in Whitstable. Having spent the past year re-organising to further support the work of the Provincial Almoner and Charity Stewards, the reduction in overheads following the move should enable improved interest  rates and services for members.

The EKPCA will retain its independence, and will continue to have its own staff, telephone numbers, and electronic links. The Data Protection Act ensures independence of data storage.

This move will help secure the future of our Charity Association.

Moving the
Provincial Office

For a long time, the Provincial Office has been hemmed in at Canterbury between the Library and Museum and the Masonic Centre, resulting in very cramped conditions for the volunteers who work there.
Computerisation has helped us cope, but increased space is urgently needed. Further more a great deal of additional work and support is now required from the Provincial Secretariat.

The new Offices on the Long Reach development just off the Thanet Way at Whitstable will provide a great opportunity to update the Provincial Office systems and improve efficiency. The site of the new office is very easily accessible from the Thanet Way.

Help us to build the Province for the future!
