On Sunday 16th March, Des from Fleur De Lis Lodge, Maidstone set out to
cycle 100 miles in 5 hours to raise money for Demelza House and the Kent
Air Ambulance.
Starting at Lenham and completing 8 circuits between Maidstone and
Ashford Des battled against wind and rain managing to cycle 102.7 miles
in 5 ½ hours finishing at the Park Gate Inn on the A20, where he was
greeted by a reception committee of friends and fellow Masons.
Des’s selfless efforts raised the grand total of £3064 and cheques were
presented by the Master of Fleur De Lis Lodge, Worshipful Brother Ian
Tanner to representatives of Demelza House and The Kent Air Ambulance.
Des is already planning his next charity ride, which he intends to make
even more of a challenge.
