Presentation at Chatham Historic Dockyard

The Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Michael Robin Bailey presented the total sum of £26,000 donated by East Kent Freemasons to a wide range of deserving organisations on Saturday morning, 10th October 2009 at the Provincial Grand Master's 2009 Charity Awards. The presentation took place on board HMS Gannet in Chatham Historic Dockyard in the presence of an attentive audience of invited guests. Councillor David Royle, the Mayor of Medway, the Mayoress Mrs. Karen Woolhouse and Mr Suresh K Khanna CBE DL a Deputy Lieutenant of Kent were also in attendance. The organisations receiving the awards ranged from the recently established Masonic Trout and Salmon Fishing Charity which arranges fishing expeditions for disadvantaged children to the Kent Air Ambulance Trust.
The Ceremony was immediately preceded by a fine display of bugle, drum and glockenspiel music performed by the Whitstable Sea Cadet Unit and precision marching and drum displays by the Royal Marine Cadet Unit which were well received by all present. The Provincial Grand Master and the Mayor inspected the Royal Marine Cadets prior to their display.
