50 Year Certificate for Eric Hewson

And Never Missed a Meeting!

Few Masons achieve 50 years in Freemasonry but how many of those, like W. Bro Eric Hewson PPrGReg, of St. George’s Lodge No: 4387, can claim never to have missed a meeting?

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, Michael Robin Bailey, accompanied by a host of active Provincial Officers, attended the Franklin Rooms at Gillingham on 20th April 2010, to present Bro Eric with his 50 year certificate. Brethren, including his brother W Bro Harry Hewson PPrJGD of Electra Lodge No: 5124, came from near and far to celebrate and to acknowledge Eric’s wonderful achievements.

Eric was initiated into St. George’s Lodge on 14th March 1960. He is held in such high esteem by his brethren that in February this year they installed him as their Worshipful Master for a third time. Such has been Eric’s enthusiasm for Masonry that he has proposed or seconded eighteen members into the Lodge. That enthusiasm continues as he is now becoming a joining member of a Toastmasters’ Lodge. His fellow lodge members can only wonder as to what he will get up to next!

In the Temple Eric comported himself with his usual aplomb. When the PGM presented the 50 year certificate, he regaled the brethren with stories from Eric’s masonic and personal life. The Brethren responded with hearty enthusiasm, which continued at the Festive Board.
