A family day of fun was held on Saturday the 22nd of May 2010 at the Sheppey Sports Ground.
Organised by the members of the 6 Lodges involved in the Sheerness Mentoring Scheme. Many
people took advantage of the days’ heat wave and converged on the event.
The fun day featured many of the traditional entertainment of a summer fete including music
and dance groups, a beat the goalie competition, coconut shy, tombola and bouncy castles.
The event carried on into the evening with entertainment from the acclaimed group of musicians ‘Ocean Blue’
Demelza House were invited to link up with the event and promoted the work of their children’s hospice.
The fun day also enabled them to raise money to help support their worthy charity .
Co-ordinator, Tim Pierpoint of Sheppeys Nore Command Lodge said “It was a great day and we were very
fortunate with the weather and we were very pleased with how it went. The event organised by the
Sheerness Mentoring Scheme has helped us to focus on and raise money for the 2014 Festival.
Through peoples generosity on the day, we have also been able to support local and national charities”.
