Provincial Grand Secretary

Worshipful Bro. Peter Charles Hagger PGStB

Born in Folkestone in February 1949 and educated at Dover College, Peter studied Building and Structural Engineering in South East London for 3 years before returning to Kent to join the family business. He is the Managing Director of two property Companies – one building private residential properties and housing estates and the other a property holding and rental company. He is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and a Past President of the former Kent branch of the Institute of Construction Management.

Peter and Jane married in 1973 and have two sons, a daughter and two granddaughters.

Peter’s hobbies include both sea and fly-fishing and he is a “fly casting” member of the East Kent branch of the Masonic Fishing Charity. Peter is also a keen motor biker; currently riding a 2003 (Jubilee series) Harley Road King. He now enjoys watching rugby (having, in his youth, played on the wing for several London clubs), F1, gardening and occasionally playing musical instruments.

Peter’s father introduced him to freemasonry and following his first Lodge Mastership in 1987 he has been honoured with several Active Provincial Offices within the Province.  Peter, who has always advocated teamwork, was a member of the Provincial DC Escorting team from 2003, culminating with his appointment as the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies from 2008 to 2011. In 2011 he was appointed as the Provincial Grand Secretary and Scribe Ezra, a role into which he has settled and is really enjoying.  This has been made all the easier by the dedication of the members of the Provincial office staffing team.”
